Floating Globe
The new ‘plaza’ entrance area was created in 2008 to mark the Park’s 25th anniversary. The spacious entry to the Park features the fascinating Floating Globe. Measuring 1.5 metres in diameter it is the largest of its type in UK. The Floating Globe is made of solid granite and weighs 6.5 tonnes, yet it 'floats' on jets of waters and can be turned with the touch of a finger – it is truly amazing! |

Land of the Dinosaurs

Water Wheel
The water wheel is a Poncelot Breast Shot Wheel and is 15 feet in diameter with 56 metal buckets, all of which were replaced in 1982.
The water wheel drives a rack bench saw which was used to cut timber grown on the estate. |
The Village Life Museum
The Museum shows trade workshops from the turn of the 20th century including a Wheelwrights, Blacksmith, the Cooper, Carpenter and a Dairy. It also has a large collection of artefacts in use at that time including tools, cottage craft, domestic and household objects.
A photographic display illustrates the history of Paultons Park with old photographs, postcards and other memorabilia such as extracts from an evacuee's diary.

Tiny Tots Town
A play area for the 0-6 year olds set in sand with a Jolly Roger boat to steer, a play house on stilts and the Orient Express play engine to climb in and around. Swings, bouncers, slides, climbing structures - lots to keep youngsters occupied for hours. |
Paultons Gardens
The 10-acre gardens originally surrounded Paultons House which stood on the site of what is now the rockery. Originally laid out by Capability Brown, the Cedar trees are over 160 years old and many pathways are originals rediscovered during restoration. The Park is part of what was once Paultons Estate, which covered about 3000 acres. A display of the history of the Park, which opened in 1983, can be seen in the Village Life Museum. |

Exotic Bird Collection
Our extensive collection of over 250 species of birds come from all over the world including parrots, owls, hornbills, cranes, flamingos and pelicans. All the birds are paired for breeding as many species are being threatened with extinction in the wild. A large proportion of our birds have been bred either at the Park or in this country.
