COASTER ENTHUSIASTS BITTEN BY THE COBRA
Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain to visit Paultons Park for the first time
Over 110 members of The Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain are visiting Paultons Park in Hampshire for the first time on Saturday 1st July to celebrate the launch of the Park's newest rollercoaster - The Cobra.
Members between the ages of 4 to 70 will be travelling from all over the UK, including Lancashire, Cheshire, Yorkshire, Kent, Lincolnshire, Wiltshire and even Scotland!
"When a privately owned park (such as Paultons) invests a large sum of money in a new ride, we do our best to give 100% support and help encourage people to visit the park. Enthusiasts have raved about The Cobra since it opened in March and many are saying it is the best new coaster in the UK this year" said club chairman and founder, Andy Hine, MBE. Andy continues, "The fact that over 110 'hard-core' coaster enthusiasts want to ride The Cobra next Saturday is proof that Paultons has installed a winner!"
The Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain was founded in 1988 with the aim of uniting coaster enthusiasts worldwide, promoting amusement parks as a fun and safe pastime and assisting parks and ride manufacturers in the pursuit of new attractions. The club now boasts over 1300 members worldwide and each year organises around 8 trips to UK parks, 1 to European parks and 2 parks in the USA. The club works hard to promote safety in theme parks and has raised many thousands of pounds for charity.
When asked why become a roller coaster enthusiast, Andy says, "From Monday to Friday we all work hard, so come the weekend we want to have a bit of escapism by visiting a theme park" explains Andy. "We leave all our worries at the main gate and when on the rides, just relax and enjoy ourselves!".
Paultons have granted the club an exclusive session on its new signature ride and it is clear that Andy and the other club members are looking forward to taking on The Cobra. "Roller coaster riding is all about having fun and as long as people get on smiling and get off laughing thinking 'I want another ride' then the coaster has delivered. Also having visited Paultons myself I know what a great fun and value for money Park it is. I am sure that during our private session you will hear many good comments and lots of enthusiastic chants!".
Paultons is currently open everyday from 10am with further information available from www.paultonspark.co.uk.
