PAULTONS
TOPS THE POLL!
Paultons is the best value family theme park
in Britain it's official! In the Out and About in Britain
survey, commissioned by Mother & Baby magazine and Pampers to
assess Britain's family friendliness, Paultons topped the poll as
'best value for money', beating Legoland, Chessington World of Adventures,
Thorpe Park, Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
"We are delighted with the result", says Managing Director, Richard
Mancey. "Our family supersaver tickets are about half the price of the bigger
parks yet we still give a full day out with something for everyone to enjoy from
tiny tots to grandparents."
Celebrating its 20th birthday this year, Paultons attracts over 550,000 visitors
a year. The Park's magic formula is its unique blend of over 40 rides and attractions
in a beautiful garden setting.
Every season new rides and attractions are added. This year, two new rides
have been added. A big coaster, The Wave Runner, takes riders down a high trough
in rubber dinghies on fast flowing water! At the other end of the scale is
the Flying Frog, a mini coaster. The only one of its kind in the UK, it has
no height restriction so youngsters can ride with a grown-up and experience
the thrill of a coaster for the first time!
The Out and About survey, the biggest survey ever carried out to assess Britain's
family friendliness questioned 2,000 parents of young children in 9 TV regions.
In the "most family friendly" category, Paultons - who won in 2002
- were runners-up to Legoland, with the other major parks trailing behind.
Dani Zur, Editor of Mother & Baby magazine, Britain's leading parenting
title; says: "Families with young children love Legoland and the lesser-known
Paultons Park. There is a wide range of activities, but they're not dominated
by older teenagers looking for white-knuckle rides so they're perfect for younger
children under 12. Both have a lovely family-friendly feel for a perfect day
out."
