Investors in People Accreditation Awarded to
Paultons Park
Paultons
Park has been accredited as an Investor in People organisation following
a successful two-day
assessment. Paultons, which employs 56
permanent and up to 250 seasonal staff, received the prestigious
accolade only six months from making
the initial commitment to adopting the
Investors in People principles.
Now in its 21st year, Paultons has
developed and grown from what was originally
a Bird Garden to one of the South’s
leading attractions and remains a family
owned and run business.
Sara Mancey, the
company’s Personnel Director said “We
are delighted to have been awarded the
Investors in People accreditation. We
are pleased to have reached the Investors in People Standard
in such a short period of time and this
is a credit to the commitment and dedication
of all our staff. Paultons is a unique business by
virtue of the fact that we have a very
wide range of disciplines ranging from
Livestock and Gardens through Engineering and Maintenance
to extensive Retail and Catering operations.
The standard has made us ensure that
we have consistency to continue to grow and develop
what is a highly complex business. We
recognise the value of staff training
and development and how this can benefit the service standards
we are able to provide our visitors which
then will ultimately benefit the ongoing
success of our business ”.

Notes to editors:
- The
Investors in People Standard
was developed in 1990 in collaboration
with the UK’s leading businesses
both large and small. The standard
provides the framework for improving
business performance and competitiveness,
through good practice and human resource
development.
- Companies
that have achieved the Standard
have been successful in adopting and
maintaining its four fundamental
principles commitment to develop all
employees to achieve business goals
and targets; regularly reviewing training
and development needs in context
of the business; taking relevant action
to meet training and development
throughout people’s employment,
and lastly , evaluating outcomes of
training and development for individuals
and the organisation as a basis for
continuous improvement.
